There isn’t a dress code except that Imperial College staff (and students) shouldn’t wear something offensive (for example, obscene, racist, or sexist). But there are some meetings where I feel, due to the more formal setting and external guests, I should dress up for. So my usual outfit includes jeans, but I do on occasion where a suit or dress as seems fitting.

I bring my backpack to and fro. In that is my work laptop (Imperial owned).

There isn’t a dress code at my work, we can just wear anything sensible. So some people wear jeans and a t shirt but I prefer to dress a little smarter. That is just a personal choice though. I feel like it separates out my work life and non-work life a little more!

I have a laptop that is owned by the university but I’m allowed to take it away from work and do my work on it at home and when I travel to other places. There is a stationery cupboard at work, so when I need pens and paper I take what I need from there. There is also a printer at work to print out any documents or things to read. There is also a well stocked library to borrow science books from. So I don’t have to provide anything myself really. Each day, I just take a packed lunch into the office.
