vCJD kills everyone who gets it. Ebola kills most people that get it and is more scary because it spreads quickly from person to person. Malaria doesn’t kill nearly such a high proportion of the cases, but so many people get malaria each year that the annual death toll from malaria is MUCH higher than for Ebola or vCJD. Which one is the worst disease?

Rabies scares me. I’ve never had a patient with it, but I’ve advised on lots of people who were at risk of getting it (usually holiday makers who decided it was a good idea to feed or stroke wild or stray animals abroad and get bitten) and need injections to protect them from developing rabies infection.
