Favourite- is getting new data and doing very different activities (like this)

Least favourite- Not getting results. Sometimes you can be doing a experiment 10 times and it not work. On the 11th time you wear your lucky pants (and not change anything else) and it works perfectly. It can be a bit difficult finding what you should change next time. Also with the time constraints (for me 4 years) it is very dis-heartening when you don’t get the results you need.

I love talking to patients and explaining things to them. I also really like working out what it causing their symptoms and then finding the right antibiotic or treatment to make them better.

I don’t like being so busy that I can’t give tasks the time they deserve. Sometimes there is just too much work and not enough hours in the day to do it in. You have to be very good at prioritising if you work in the NHS.
