      It brought together:
      Mathematics (my skill)
      Biology (my subject interest)
      Helping people and animals.

      Also, scientific and computing progress of late mean that epidemiologists like me can analyse epidemics as they spread. It is “real-time” meaning the results help doctors and officials as they are making important decisions about how to best control spread of a disease

      It combines my love of biology and genetics especially, with looking after people.

      I only found out about this job when I met other people who did epidemiology. I thought it seemed really interesting and I like the idea that my work helps other people.
